Holidaymakers have had their credit and debit cards refused whilst abroad.Banks as part of their fraud detection look for unusual spending patterns and it is recommended that you contact your card company and advise them of any intended visit.

Figures releashed for JULY 2007 by the International Air Transport Authority show a rise in passenger demand up by 5.%  with the Middle East leading the way up 18.8% followed by Aisia 5.5% and Europe 4.5%.

Thomas Cook added to the list of travel companies and airlines at the unsatisfactory levels of service at BAA operated airports in the UK. Once again Heathrow airport came in for special mention.

Despite all the bad press BAA has received regarding the time taken to pass through security and lost baggage at Heathrow in particular over 2000 jobs are expected to go. Ferrovial the Spanish Company who now own BAA controlling Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted , Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Southampton airports are also said to be considering selling one of the above airports.

Airlines warned the staff reductions would result in a poorer service and that more competition is required and the break up of BAA would help to achieve this.

BMI is to add an extra flight between Aberdeen airport and Manchester airport from 03 Sep.
