Since 2002 UK airport passenger numbers have increased 24%.Whilst in terms of passenger numbers Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted and Manchester airports account for 62% of the total UK passenger numbers for 2006 of 235 million the growth in regional airports have steadily increased their market share. For instance Doncaster airport only began operating 2 years ago and already is achieving over 1 million customers a year. Stansted airport has seen the highest growth rates overtaking Manchester has the third busiest airport in the UK
